AA 356.0 | Sand or permanent mold casting; temper not specified for composition

Each value is checked in at least three authoritative issuer publications. Some issuers reproduce a shared standard; these are not independent experiments. Do not use as certified design allowables. View sources ↗

Chemical composition

Only reviewed weight-percent bounds are listed. A blank bound means only the other threshold was reported.

Exact AA 356.0 sand/permanent-mold casting composition limits, wt.%, match the Aluminum Association Pink Sheets, Hadleigh Castings and St. Paul Foundry. They are three issuer publications of a specification family, not independent chemical assays. AA footnote 7 is essential: if iron exceeds 0.45 wt.%, manganese shall not be less than one-half the iron content; Fe <=0.60 and Mn <=0.35 alone do not express this coupled condition. 356.1/356.2 ingots and A356.0 casting have different limits. Aluminum is remainder, not an inferred numerical minimum. Others-each is not published because St. Paul omits that row. Mechanical and thermal product figures need separate condition-specific review.
