AA 4043 | Wrought aluminum; only matching chemistry limits, not a weld-metal test

Each value is checked in at least three authoritative issuer publications. Some issuers reproduce a shared standard; these are not independent experiments. Do not use as certified design allowables. View sources ↗

Seven AA 4043 wt.% composition limits match the United Aluminum AA-based table and Oxford Alloys 4043 welding-wire publication. These are three issuer publications, not independent assays: United follows AA, while Oxford labels its wire table as AWS-based. Agreement in these cells does not establish interchangeability between AA 4043 wrought alloy and an ER4043 welding consumable. Single numbers are maxima. AA 4043A is a separate designation. AA footnote 6 limits Be only for welding electrode, rod and filler wire; conflicting issuer Be values are withheld. Others (each) conflicts with a Washington Alloy sheet and Others (total) has unresolved definition differences, so neither is published. Al is remainder, not a numeric minimum; unlisted Cr/Ni are not zero. Wire density, melting range, welding settings and as-welded 6061 properties stay source- and condition-scoped, not generic AA claims.
